Emergency response to COVID-19 pandemic

We recently provided care baskets of food and supplies for our widows and their families made necessary because of the pandemic. Can you help?

h.o.w? Ministry recently delivered food basket for our widows and their families essentials to provide food during the pandemic. Kenya is in the middle of quarantine, and our women are facing months without their source of income needed to feed their families.

Each of the women in our empowerment program received 4 kgs sugar, 10 kgs of flour, 2 kgs of rice, 3 liters of oil, 2 kgs of beans, 2 bars of soap, and tea leaves.

In the United States we have more than 20 million people currently without employment due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We know the hardship this has created for Americans. We are banding together and helping our neighbors showing the love of Jesus in tangible ways. The church has left its four walls inside the building. The church is in homes, neighborhoods, school food pick up lines, in hospitals, grocery stores, fuel stations, and restaurant drive thru. Many who never thought of themselves as essential workers have made our lives more manageable connecting us with the essentials we need to get through. Essential workers, thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus.

In Kinangop, Kenya, where h.o.w? Ministry serves orphans and widows, providing enough food for a meal each day is getting harder. Many of the widows are subsistence farmers and are sharing their cabbage and potatoes with those who have none. In the rural community of Kinangop, the poor are caring for the destitute.

Zipporah and her children planted vegetables early this year. She is helping her hungry neighbors without, by sharing her small harvest. This is the beauty of scripture in the flesh. Seeing the women we have mentored the last 9 years sharing not out of abundance, but because they have "some" and others have none.

If you would like to help in covering the cost of a widow's care basket please make a donation.
