Day 7: From the Masai Mara to Lake Naivasha

The last few days have been fun trying to take in as much as possible. I am glad we are here with the team. The children were so fun to be with. I really like Kenya.

Day 7 - MASAI MARA and NAIVASHA

Rise and shine early this morning for breakfast and then off to see more animals on our Masai Mara final safari out of the park. We left seeing more elephants, giraffe, zebras, a hyena family, tiny antelope and my favorites, the lions!

We headed to the first resort built in the park in 1962 and laughed at a pond of over 30 hippos grunting and making all sorts of noises. We drove out of the park and saw lots of Maasai tending their herds.

We arrived in Naivasha and enjoyed an evening boat ride on Lake Naivasha seeing storks, kingfishers and other birds as well as hippos.  Located on the lake is Crescent Island, which was the filming location for Born Free (mom's favorite) and Out of Africa. Animals were transported to the island for filming. Only the lions were removed. The giraffes, zebras, water buffalo and antelopes are all still there.

The last few days have been fun trying to take in as much as possible. I am glad we are here with the team. The children were so fun to be with. I really like Kenya.
